 The history of The Reference series dates back to 1973, when KEF pioneered the use of advanced digital technologies to achieve the highest possible audio fidelity.
 Each pair of speakers is acoustically matched to within 0.5 dB of the laboratory reference standard. At the heart of this three-way acoustic architecture is the latest 12th generation Uni-Q® speaker array featuring revolutionary MAT™ (Metamaterial Absorption Technology). MAT™ acts like an intricate labyrinth that absorbs 99% of unwanted sound waves from behind the tweeter, completely eliminating distortion and allowing the speaker to disappear from the room, leaving behind a pure, authentic and emotionally intense soundstage.

 Deep, defined and extremely fast bass is provided by a premium 165 mm (6.5") woofer driver with an aluminum diaphragm, which works in combination with an innovative adaptive Bass Reflex output system (you receive a short and long tube in the package to precisely adjust the bass response to your room). Despite the stand dimensions, the typical bass response in the room goes down to an incredible, sub-bass 30 Hz, providing a full-bodied experience without the need for a separate subwoofer.
